Scope and availability
The website accessibility and contact practices in this statement apply to the public website. The provisions concerning transportation, drivers, and telephone booking describe services planned for introduction as Goose Cabs begins operating.
Ride booking and driver applications are not open. Availability of transportation and telephone booking will be confirmed for each market before those services begin.
Our commitment
Goose Cabs is committed to providing technology people can use now and accessible transportation when ride services open, while treating every visitor, rider, and driver with dignity.
We design rider and driver products with clarity, readable type, and straightforward flows, and we continue to improve accessibility as we expand beyond our launch market.
We aim to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles for the public website where practical, and to respect platform accessibility features in our mobile applications, including dynamic type, screen readers, reduced motion, and high contrast settings.
We recognise our obligations under applicable human rights and accessibility legislation, and we treat accessibility as a legal duty and not only a design goal.
Non-discrimination
Discrimination is prohibited on the Goose Cabs platform. Riders, drivers, franchise operators, and staff must not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religious beliefs, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, marital status, family status, source of income, or any other ground protected by applicable human rights legislation.
A driver must not refuse or cancel a trip because of a rider's protected characteristic, and must not refuse a trip because of the destination other than where travelling there would be genuinely unsafe or unlawful.
A confirmed act of discrimination is grounds for immediate and permanent removal from the platform.
Service animals
Drivers on the Goose Cabs platform are required to transport riders accompanied by a service animal. This is a legal obligation, not a courtesy.
Allergy, fear of animals, religious objection, or personal preference is not a lawful ground for refusing a rider with a service animal. A driver who cannot accommodate a service animal cannot provide service on this platform.
A service animal may travel in the passenger compartment with the rider. A driver may not require a service animal to travel in the trunk, may not charge an additional fee for the animal, and may not require the rider to produce documentation beyond what the law permits.
A refusal to transport a service animal is treated as discrimination. On a confirmed report we remove the driver from the platform permanently.
If you are refused
Report it to support@goosecabs.ca as soon as you can, with the trip details and what happened. We will investigate promptly, and we will tell you the outcome.
You may also have recourse under human rights legislation, and nothing in our policies or terms limits that right.
Mobility aids and assistance
Drivers are required to provide reasonable assistance with mobility aids, including a folding wheelchair, walker, scooter, cane, or crutches, where the aid can be safely stowed and carried in the vehicle.
Drivers may not charge an additional fee for stowing a mobility aid, and may not refuse a trip because a rider uses one.
A driver may decline only where the aid genuinely cannot be safely accommodated in that vehicle, and should say so courteously so that the rider can rebook.
If you need assistance getting to or from the vehicle, you may ask the driver, and reasonable assistance should be provided consistent with the driver's own safety.
Wheelchair accessible vehicles
Not every vehicle on the platform is wheelchair accessible. Where an accessible vehicle category is available in your market, it is shown at the time of booking.
We are working to expand accessible vehicle availability as we grow, and availability depends on the vehicles that drivers and franchise operators in each market provide.
If an accessible vehicle is not available in your market and you need one, contact support@goosecabs.ca and we will tell you what options exist locally, including whether a scheduled booking can be arranged.
Booking by phone
Where phone booking is available and authorized in your market, Goose AI can help riders who prefer speaking to tapping, or who find a map-based interface difficult to use, request a ride by telephone.
Calls may be transferred to a person when automation is not enough, and you may ask to be transferred at any time. Available payment methods and applicable service-area and safety rules will be explained during the call.
You will be told at the start of the call that you are speaking with an automated system and that the call may be recorded or transcribed.
Apps and website
Our website uses semantic headings, keyboard-focusable controls, sufficient colour contrast, and responsive layouts for phones and tablets.
Our mobile apps rely on native platform accessibility features, including screen readers, dynamic type, and reduced motion preferences.
Our legal documents, including this one, are provided in plain HTML with proper headings so that they can be read with assistive technology, and are available in an alternative format on request.
Known limits
We would rather tell you where we fall short than claim we are perfect.
- Map and live-tracking screens are difficult to use with some assistive technologies. Booking by phone is the better route where this is a barrier.
- Complex administrative tables are denser than ideal on small screens.
- Accessible vehicle availability varies by market and, in some markets, may be limited.
Requesting an accommodation
If you need an accommodation to use the Services, as a rider or as a driver, contact support@goosecabs.ca and tell us what would help. We will work with you to find a reasonable solution.
We ask only for the information needed to understand and provide the accommodation. Information you give us about a disability is treated as sensitive and is used only for that purpose, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Feedback and complaints
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email support@goosecabs.ca with the screen or page address, your device and operating system, and a description of the issue. We will acknowledge your message and work to provide a reasonable alternative.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the human rights commission or accessibility body in your province.
