Why these guidelines exist
A driver’s workplace. A rider’s way home. Everyone sharing a GooseCabs trip deserves to feel safe and be treated with care.
We’re preparing for our first rides in Camrose. This draft guide explains the community standards planned for the service. The final Terms of Service and Driver Terms will be published before the relevant service opens.
Respect and inclusion
Be considerate with riders, drivers, staff and the people around you. Harassment, threats, discrimination and violence have no place in a GooseCabs ride.
Accessibility is part of the ride
Drivers must welcome riders travelling with service animals and provide reasonable assistance with mobility aids that can be safely accommodated.
Accessible vehicle availability will be shown in the app where that category is offered. Not every vehicle is wheelchair accessible.
On the road
A few shared expectations help keep the trip safe and the car ready for the next person.
- Check before you get in. Match the driver, vehicle and licence plate with the details in your app. If they don’t match, don’t travel. Report the mismatch to GooseCabs.
- Leave room for a safe trip. Wear a seatbelt and stay within the vehicle’s lawful seating capacity. Don’t ask a driver to speed, stop illegally or do anything that puts others at risk.
- Take care of the car. No smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption or illegal drugs in the vehicle. Don’t damage the car or interfere with the driver’s ability to operate it safely.
- Keep feedback about the trip. Ratings and comments should be honest and relevant to the ride. Personal abuse, discrimination and defamatory comments are not acceptable.
Raise a concern
Report unsafe driving, harassment, discrimination or another concern when you are able. Include the trip details so we can identify the ride.
Rides are not available yet. You can contact us now with questions about these standards.
Immediate danger? Call 911. Contact emergency services first. Do not rely on an app message or email to summon emergency assistance.
How reports are handled
GooseCabs investigates reports of misconduct. Depending on the circumstances, an account may be restricted or suspended while a report is reviewed. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to removal.
A single low rating does not, by itself, result in suspension. The terms explain how we handle breaches and the opportunity to respond.
